Multilaser G Max 2: basic cell phone, but with lots of memory

The Multilaser G Max 2 is the bet of the Brazilian brand for those who need an affordable smartphone with lots of memory and battery. The device, launched in September 2021, is the first in the input line to bring 128 GB storage. In the specifications you still find 6.5-inch screen, three cameras with the main 13 megapixel and battery of 4,000 mAh.

In addition to the internal space, the operating system is another beautiful surprise, after all the company already delivers the phone with Android 11. But how does the Multilaser G Max 2 behave on a day-to-day life? Did the brand get it right with this version? I tested G Max 2 and share my experience from now on.

First impressions already deliver that the Multilaser G Max 2 is a device with raw design. What does that mean? The appliance has a simple finish, with thick sides and simple plastic throughout the structure. It is good to make it clear that this is not necessarily something negative and exclusive of this phone, after all other smartphones in the segment, such as the Realme C11, Moto G30 and Galaxy A02s, also have these features, which aim to cheapen the product.

But what caught my attention most in this Multilaser was the weight that affected ergonomics. This abundance can bother while browsing and, as it has a large panel, in my case it was even harder to mess with just one hand. The fingerprint reader on the back has a good unlockresponse, but achieving it is somewhat difficult in this large body; they could centralize better.

In addition, the G Max 2 brings input to headphones on top and mono speaker underneath. There is also the connection for power which unfortunately is microUSB, a pity the Multilaser have neglected the USB type C. Now, the curious thing is that you must remove the back cover to put the chip and the memory card. There’s the battery too, but it’s sealed. At the end of the day, you’d better have added the traditional drawer, wouldn’t you?

As I commented, the device has a large display and can please those who are rightly seeking it. We have here the same configuration of the Multilaser G Pro 2, which was presented in March this year. The G Max 2 received a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel that has HD+ resolution (1600 x 720 pixels). There is a more pointed chin and a drop-shaped notch for the camera; is a layout very similar to that of Multilaser H and Philco Hit Plus.

Speaking of quality itself, the device will not offer impeccable definition or excellent contrasts; those are the main downsides you will find here. But it’s a good screen for those who like to watch videos on YouTube and streaming, thanks to the inches: the content is comprehensive and even createa good immersion. The brightness could be stronger and viewing in open places is only favorable when the intensity is high.

The model has mono speaker. As expected, the volume is not high, but you can count on the component to listen to music or watch movies as long as the place is silent. At least you have the 3.5mm input available there to connect a headset and have a better experience.

The Multilaser G Max 2 is already coming standard with Android 11. The multilaser interface is very simple with square design that I don’t like much; The rounded icons of multilaser H please me more. There aren’t many customization options in G Max 2 either, but that’s just a detail. Basic users should enjoy the system even with this limitation.
