Sony unveils new entry-level headphones with a transparent mode and improved battery life
A fresh attempt to rebuild the economic proposal of Sony
The year 2021 witnessed a huge enhancement in Sony’s headphones’ affordable lineup through the release of WF-C500. Priced at $100, the feature that was unique was the headphones’ design, a 10-hour charge, and 360 Reality Audio compatibility. But this is only the beginning, and now Sony offers a new, even more affordable model of truly wireless headphones called the WF-C510 for just $60.
It is meant to be cheap and affordable and save costs for its users.
The looks and feel of this latest model has been redesigned and optimised by Sony in a great way. It is, however, important to note that this is the new generation of the C500, and as such has a smaller size of 20 percent and reduced weight of 15 percent. So let’s not bother using superlatives to talk about the smallest closed-back headphone design that Sony has ever conceived. Concerning the longevity, it should be noted that the C510 adheres to the IPX4 standard of the previous model, which guarantees stable operation during sports classes.
A special emphasis has been made in the environmental factor. In fact, the earbuds and their case are made of recycled plastic for the former as aforementioned in the article. The ambient sound mode (transparency) is also part of it, which is quite useful, and convenient in one way because these headphones do not have any active noise cancellation (ANC).
Long battery back up as well as a fast charging option
Sony has also has enhanced the battery life to 11 hours up from a 10 hours battery. The charging case provides again as in the previous model enough to recharge the earphones one time. Another noteworthy feature is the extension of the mere charging feature in the form of the ‘’quick-charge’’ option that allows an hour of music play in every five minutes charging.
Music lovers will also like to understand that settings can be adjusted by the help of Sony’s specific application, and speakers are compatible with 360 Reality Audio and DSEE, one of the tools which restores lost details because of compression.
Currently, pre-oder batches for the WF-C510 exist in black, blue, white and yellow colour options. Sales deliveries are expected to start in September, according to the vehicle maker.
