WhatsApp starts releasing video messages to users
WhatsApp announced on Thursday (27) the launch of the video messaging feature for conversations. The tool works in the same way as audio messages, it is even activated in the same place, which will change functions from a simple click on the “microphone” button. The new feature will make recording and uploading videos faster.
As we can not “never fail to mention”, Telegram already has a similar tool. The difference is… Well, there’s no difference and maybe you don’t use it much — at least I’ve never purposely used it on Telegram, only during wrong clicks. Even clicking the button to switch between audio and video is the same.
Video messages arrive on WhatsApp
As the company explained on its official website, video messages have a maximum duration of 60 seconds. A very short limit compared to the audio tool, however, a necessary limit. After all, a very long video would consume a lot of data and harm communication, since it would take longer to load it.
Just like in WhatsApp’s audio tool, the user can “lock the recording” by dragging the button up, which allows them to continue the recording hands-free. And of course, you can record by holding the button. No secret in the use of the feature, it is equal to the audio resource.
And if you (like me) don’t like opening videos that are already starting by playing audio, good news: by default, the video will open in silent mode in a conversation. To play the sound of the video message, simply click on the screen while the content is playing. Videos will not expire, just as they do with the option to upload a video or photo through the camera tool.
The feature will be rolled out gradually to Android and iOS users over the course of the next few days.
