Bluetooth Phone Edifier W800BT Plus: live sound with few upgrades
The Edifier W800BT is edifier’s great triumph. This is one of the most popular headphones on the market when we look at the entry category. With the success achieved, the company decided to launch the W800BT Plus, with the same look, but bringing significant improvements in connectivity thanks to qualcomm’s QCC3024 chipset. Costing R$ 289, the model arrives in the country as an affordable option for the day to day.
It has Bluetooth 5.1, Qualcomm aptX Low Latency, input for P2 cable and battery for up to 55 hours of playback, with a downgrade compared to its predecessor that offers 75 hours of sound. In recent weeks, I have evaluated the Edifier product and revealed in this review whether the W800BT Plus is a good option in 2021.

Just as Xiaomi does with the popular Redmi AirDots, the Edifier literally hasn’t changed anything in the look of the W800BT Plus. In my opinion, this is a right strategy, after all the brand does not let the popularity of the product go down the drain — you can be sure that many people can identify a W800BT on the street easily. The Plus version continues with its own stately design and by far you can even pass on a premium product idea.
But only by far, because, like most headphones in this category, the gadget is all built in simple plastic, without passing a feeling of resistance. Despite this, carefully, I believe it gives the W800BT Plus last a few years quietly. The foams, which imitate leather, have a good finish and are very comfortable, without pressing the ears. Even in the comfort, the model does very well: it weighs 203 grams and has a good feeling of lightness during use.
What didn’t please me very much was the portability, or the absence of it. If you are that type of person who always suffers to close the suitcase, most likely you will get annoyed to be able to carry the W800BT Plus. Edifier missed the great opportunity to make the headset flexible, as did the JBL Tune 510BT.
As for the controls, the right shell holds the USB-C connection for power, the volume buttons and the play/pause buttons that sit out, and is also used to turn the headphone on and off. On the other side, on the left shell, the brand has added the P2 cable inlet — and they already offer the accessory on the packaging. In connectivity, the W800BT Plus has an application —Edifier Connect—which has basic functions such as four equalization modes, allowing the user to track playing tracks and check battery status. It is a very simple and even poorly optimized app, but you can consider considering the product category.
