Twitter appears as X in the Play Store and with new photos, but no changes in the app
The Twitter app, which is theoretically now called X, has already adopted its new name on the US Play Store. Elon Musk, owner of the social network, and Linda Yaccarino, CEO of the site, have already confirmed that Twitter “is now X”, but the platform still retains elements of its old “RG”, such as the “Tweet” and “Search on Twitter” button in the search bar.
Musk also said that soon, the platform will only be available in dark mode. Your rationale is that this is the best “in all” option. However, the black color makes more sense with the social network’s new branding, a stylized X and in the same color. For now, Twitter keeps the blue tones of the late and graceful bird, but the site and the new logo do not combine.
Twitter already X in the Play Store and in photos, but not in the app
In the Play Store of the United States, the application of the social network formerly known as Twitter has already turned X, showing even the renewed design of the app. The developer appears as X Corp., a company created by Elon Musk to be the headquarters of the platform, a long time ago. However, nothing has changed in the app: it continues with the elements of Twitter, from even before Musk bought the social network.
Also, the blue verified badge that appears in the screenshots of X, the new Twitter name (being repetitive to try not to be confusing), is still fine… Twitter: blue. If you live in the United States, you can check it out. The elements that cite the name of the social network still appear as “Twitter”, unlike the disclosure prints.
With this change in the Play Store, it is likely that X Corp. will change the application also in the App Store, app store for iOS devices.
The complete change from Twitter to X will come as a surprise. And since the social network has no press office, there will be no embargoed release about the change. The owner will “tweet” at the time it happens.
