This tool has a whole lot of features to it. In addition to live streaming it also supports recording in the background or when the recording is triggered by the user. It also has quick replay which enables the user to view the details of the game in just one glance. Examples include using markers to highlight areas that thee audience needs to focus on. Additionally, if the game supports the Timeline of the recorder, Steam adds its own markers to the recording automatically.
Until the announcement of it in June 2024 several games have endorsed this feature with the help of official support, Timeline and event markers. Of them, two are most popular: Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 are games developed by Valve Corporation. They also share the point that through Valve’s SDK third-party developers can additionally use these features.
This paper will have little effect on system resources.
As per Valve, this recording feature aims at avoiding usage of system resources in case it lack a GPU until the system does not hold a GPU. This is because the tool uses both NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards that take off most of the performance hits inherent to generation of video recordings. Without these graphics cards, the system’s CPU is under pressure and therefore it can be affected greatly.
