The new iOS 18.2 beta 3: What’s new? Today only Apple releases the third beta of the iOS platform, 18.2. Not as radically new as certain previous iOS 18.2 betas such as those offering Image Playground and Visual Intelligence, this version still has some interesting updates. The better enhancements for the Photos and Camera Control apps For instance there is an improvement on photos application or the camera app. Now, when a user touches the screen while playing a video does not zoom in and out or zoom out. Instead, it enables video controls and a view in the form of a gallery at the bottom of the screen. iPhone 16 users will also find an interesting evolution with their unique camera control button. The firmware also includes new option under setting’s menu that permits the “Require Screen On” to be switched off to enable the camera regardless of phone’s screen. Apple CarPlay, and indeed other novelties, The next version of Apple CarPlay is also in the process of evolution and an upgrade. Specifically, there are new illustrations for media use and climate application. Blogs pointed out that there was a clear resemblance between the new icon for the media app and the old illustration of iTunes Radio. Other minor modifications include; brighter icons include the AirDrop icon when placed in the share section, alterations in the device requirements for Apple Intelligence features, and correction of distortions in both Precision Finding and a “Play Sound” option within the Find My app.
Stable release imminent
While the iOS 18.2 beta is still underway, the stable version is not far away. Apple has confirmed that it will arrive in December, allowing non-beta users to take full advantage of the new features. These include Visual Intelligence’s AI Vision for iPhone 16 owners, support for ChatGPT in Siri and other areas of iOS, and the new image generation capabilities of Image Playground.
