Apple Vision Pro could launch in March, journalist suggests
The Apple Vision Pro mixed reality glasses promise to be the flagship tech launch of the first quarter of 2024. Then, new information indicates that the long-awaited headset is expected to hit the US market in March next year.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that the product is unlikely to launch early in the year as previously anticipated. The reason for the “delay” would be the final adjustments that are being made by the manufacturer.
Gurman reveals that the Apple Vision Pro is undergoing the latest product testing. As it is a new category of device, there is a great deal of concern regarding software and other aspects related to the user experience.
At the same time, the Cupertino giant begins to outline plans for the distribution of the accessory in US retail. As previously revealed, Apple Stores will have spaces dedicated to the new device before the official launch.
The sale of the headset will take place through an appointment system. As such, customers need to visit the brand’s stores to perform a facial scan and other evaluations.
Our editor Thássius Veloso tried the Vision Pro during the reveal at WWDC 2023, Apple’s event held in June this year. He says that one of the steps is the consultation with the optometrist, a professional who will evaluate the client’s vision problems and request the special lenses to correct the headset.
Other preparations for the arrival of the Apple Vision Pro
Apple has already confirmed that it will be doing special Vision Pro training for sellers in the first few months of 2024. Then, representatives of official stores and retailers will participate in training sessions at the big tech headquarters in Cupertino, California.
On the other hand, app developers are also working on special versions for the gadget’s operating system: visionOS. For example, the popular Telegram messenger will have a dedicated version for Apple’s accessory.
