WhatsApp goes through new instability on Wednesday
WhatsApp presented problems on Wednesday (20), preventing users from creating new groups. This instability happened in the versions of the program for smartphones and desktop – including for WhatsApp accessed via browser. On DownDetector, the peak of complaints grew after 2 p.m., but throughout the morning users reported problems with the app.
In the tests we did , when trying to create a group, the app kept a loading animation and, after a few seconds, returned a pop-up with the message saying that it was not possible to create the group. The instability seems to have lasted for about an hour. The bug appears to have affected Android smartphones and iPhones.
Until the closing of this news, WhatsApp had not published any note about what happened. The problem with the messenger app happens 5 days after presenting instabilities with the sending of files. If the Goal is positioned, this text will be updated with the company’s response.
WhatsApp has second instability in less than a week
The new issue on WhatsApp is the second with the app in less than a week. On the 16th, the messaging app and Instagram, both owned by Meta, had instabilities in their features.
On WhatsApp, users couldn’t send files — images, videos and audios, for example — to contacts or groups. Attempting to publish these documents caused an error by activating the button to resend the message. Texting was not affected by the bug.
In the case of Instagram, the instability of last Friday prevented the viewing and publication of stories.
Another issue involving Meta’s services last Friday was in the Business Suite, used by businesses for publishing scheduling and ad management.
