Bluetooth Phone Edifier W600BT: cheap with cool sound and lots of battery

In 2021, Edifier launched the Bluetooth headphone Edifier W600BT, an even more affordable version of the popular W800BT, a model that gave a good stir in the market. Although it shares the same design, the new headset differs by autonomy and connectivity. It’s 30 hours of sound, it delivers Bluetooth 5.1 and audio cable input that makes the product even more versatile.

The gadget landed in the country costing only R $ 194 and will dispute space with the headphones jbl and Philips. Does that make sense? I have tested the Edifier W600BT in recent weeks and share my experience of use in this review.

Our analyses are not intended to be advertising, so they highlight the positive and negative points of each product. No company has paid, reviewed or had early access to this content.

The W600BT was provided by Edifier on loan and will be returned to the company after testing. For more information, visit tecnoblog.net/etica.

Edifier barely touched anything on the look of the W600BT and worked on extremely subtle changes. It is identical to the W800BT and the W800BT Plus, which I recently tested here on Tecnoblog. The shape of the shell is the same, as are the foams and buttons. Compared to the W800BT Plus, the 600 appears to have simple plastic; with only 168 grams, it is also lighter; and lost some details, such as identifying the brand with metallic effect.

But that’s not all. The economy in the structure caused the model to lose some of the firmness and, consequently, it gets loose on the head. It’s not a horrible situation, but the W800BT Plus, which is very firm, manages to please me more. Despite this, the headphone analyzed here should not bother most people: it has a flexible body and the absence of firmness, in a way, contributed to comfort.

What still bothers me about Edifier’s W-BT series is the non-possibility of folding the gadgets for better transportation. In this model, in particular, the company could offer this flexibility, since an oversight in the suitcase, for example, can damage the product, after all the structure is very simple.

On the controls part, there were virtually no changes, either. The right shell received the power and power on/off buttons, volume buttons, and USB-C connection for power. The left only brings the input to audio cable. The brand already sends the accessory in the box, but I found it too short.

The headphone is also not compatible with the Edifier Connect app, but I was very happy to know that the W600BT has multipoint connection. This means that, like the JBL headphones, this Edifier can be connected simultaneously to two different devices and the feature worked well in my tests with an iPhone 12 and a MacBook Pro.

Still in connectivity, Bluetooth 5.1 is part of the product specifications. In both music and video, the W600BT performs well. Latency for videos virtually does not exist and it did not present vulnerability during the connection. It is only a pity the lack of support for the aptX protocol, which was restricted to the W800BT model.

In sound quality, the W600BT has a profile very similar to the other W-BT headphones, but it is possible to notice a certain inferiority. This does not necessarily represent a negative point, after all you can not charge much for an input phone. When I started testing the W600BT, I confess that I found the sound kind of shy and even bland on some tracks. The bass are present, but they are not accentuated and I missed a more full-bodied sound. The mids and treble even please me for being clear and bright.

Calvin Harris’s We’ll Be Coming Back plays this headphone with enough life, the vocal scant of beats and other effects, and even in more intense parts, it remains stable. In my opinion, the track could play with a mai immersion
